Working principle of pneumatic solenoid valve

Pneumatic solenoid valve is an automation basic component used to control parameters such as airflow direction, flow rate and pressure in pneumatic systems. It is a type of actuator.

The working principle of pneumatic solenoid valve is mainly based on the effect of electromagnetic force on the valve core to achieve control of the airflow channel. Structurally, there is a closed cavity in the pneumatic solenoid valve, with through holes opened at different positions, each hole leading to different pipelines, a valve in the middle of the cavity, and two electromagnets on both sides. When the coil of the electromagnet is energized, the static iron core generates electromagnetic force, and the valve core moves under the action of the electromagnetic force. For example, in a direct-acting solenoid valve, when the coil is energized, the electromagnetic force directly pushes the valve core to change direction; while in a pilot solenoid valve, it is the pilot air pressure output by the electromagnetic pilot valve that pushes the valve core to change direction.

According to the number of passages (including air inlet, air outlet and exhaust port) of the valve's external interface and the number of switching positions of the valve, pneumatic solenoid valves can be divided into different types, such as two-position three-way solenoid valves (with two switching positions and three interface passages), two-position five-way solenoid valves, etc. A two-position valve indicates two states of on and off, while a three-position valve has three different states. These different types of solenoid valves play different roles in pneumatic systems. For example, a two-position five-way solenoid valve is often used in conjunction with a double-acting pneumatic valve, and a two-position three-way solenoid valve is used in conjunction with a single-acting pneumatic valve. In addition, explosion-proof coils can be selected according to the working conditions to achieve an explosion-proof effect. Pneumatic reversing solenoid valves can be installed in a surface-mounted or tube-mounted manner according to the actual conditions and valve requirements, and the installation complies with the NAMUR standard and VDI/VDE3845 double holes. The medium is filtered to 50 microns, lubricated or non-lubricated compressed air, and the air source interface is a G1/4 tube.
